It was his Birthday, the only day of his lonely life when he thought himself to be special. He had feeling of living a directionless life. He wanted to have some motivation; some driving force; one special mantra to be followed. He tried to think of one but was never able to. He believed in god and passed on the command of his quest to god.
While unwrapping his birthday presents, he found “a book of quotations” and thought it to be god’s signal: wait is over my child. He thought, finally i have got a chance to put an end to all my miseries and started looking for his mantra-for-life. He was happy with the thought of it to be the last day of desolation. This book is certainly an omen of good luck.
For whole day he kept on finding suitable quote for himself. His thirst for happiness restricted him to his room only. He lost contact with whole world for whole one day. He didn’t go to office; postponed his all birthday rituals; received no phone calls which were meant to put a smile on his face; forgot to attend his own birthday bash; and missed the finals of his favourite game.
It was 12:02 am. He was still looking for the appropriate-life-changing-words with a single page left in the book, which to his despair ended with no life changing direction. He got frustrated and threw the book away. Suddenly, he looked at the watch and started crying with tears on realising the hollowness of his search and loss of few most precious moments of his life.
